This question comes through email by Emily:

I am decorating my bedroom and would love to use french moulding on the walls and doors. Could I use a silicone mold of some old sirocco scroll work? Would it be paintable and installed with small nails?
Thank you for your time and consideration.

      Hi Emily,

Yes, you can use a silicone mold of the old scroll work. Is the mold itself old? Unfortunately, silicone molds don’t last forever. As they get older, it gets harder to demold castings from them. You will definitely want to use a mold release. When finished, your resin castings will be paintable and can be drilled. You can see some of my resin painting results here: https://www.resinobsession.com/resin-resin-resin/painting-on-resin
