      This question comes from Sue:

I put roses into the paperweight mold, but they always seem to rise to the top, or the bottom. So therefore I have part of the rose sticking out. I really don’t want to cut it off. I tried doing 2 pours but I get a seam in the paperweight. Any suggestions to help me out?? Also do the roses have to be dried before putting them in the resin?

      Hi Sue,

Since your rose is rising up out of the mold, you are going to need to continue to pour the resin in (at least) two layers. To minimize the appearance of seams, pour the next layer while the previous layer is in the gel stage, but not completely cured.

Yes, you will need to dry the roses before placing them in the resin. We have several blog posts on how to do that here: https://www.resinobsession.com/tag/drying-flowers
