Hi there, i’m new to resin but trying to make clear pendants with epoxy resin, in a silicone mold, with pressed flowers inside. I’m doing 1 layer, putting flower in, leaving till it cures, then adding a second layer. The trouble is when I de mold them, and I look through the piece, it isn’t crystal clear. There’s a kind of swirly texture inside, which I think is the join between the 2 layers. What am I doing wrong? How can I stop this from happening? Thank you for your help! Helen

      Hi Helen,

Try pouring the second layer while the first layer is still in the gel stage. That should minimize the lines between layers.

in my experience, i tended to get the ‘swirly’ look when the resin or general room temperature was too cold. when i started warming the bottles in warm water before use, i had less of that swirly look in between my layers. good luck
