This question comes through email by GT:

I have an idea for an end coffee table. I want to create a round base and stick some exotic red wood branches 1-2 inches thick into it. Once the base hardened, I want to turn it upside down and create the same size table top, i.e. reuse the mold for the base, and stick the other ends of branches to the table top. Imagine two 1-2 inch high resin discs about 18-24" in diameter connected by tree branches.

Do you visualize the table I am trying to describe or you need a drawing?

Which resin would you recommend? My concern is that whatever works for jewelries might not work for furniture.

      Hi GT,

Yes, based upon the diameter of what you’re describing, the Resin Obsession deep pour resin is my choice.  https://shop.resinobsession.com/collections/resin/resin-obsession-deep-pour-resin

You didn’t mention how thick the castings were, but I would anticipate that to make this the thickness of the average coffee table, you will need to do several pours.
