Creating a smoky effect in resin

      Wow, thank you for producing such an informative website! I am a creator/artist of sorts, and I am wanting to work with resin. Ive been searching the Internet high and low, and I cant seem to find an answer to this question: What do you think would happen if I injected liquid (water) into the Crystal Clear epoxy resin as it cures? (and I do mean inject, with a syringe, at the center of curing epoxy). I want to capture a design similar to the smoky effect of droplets of food coloring penetrating the surface of a glass of water. Perhaps it isnt possible… Thank you for your time.

      Hi EK,

      Im afraid that adding water to the resin (even in small amounts), means it will not cure.  To create this effect, I would suggest using alcohol inks in the resin.  You can see how I use them in this tutorial:
