I’ve seen where they put their mold and epoxy in a container and hook up a hose to it. Are they pressurizing it or causing a vacuum in the container? And at what poundage are they doing this at? My understanding is that they are doing this to get rid of the air bubbles. What can you tell me about this procedure?

      Hi Bob,

What you see could either be pressure casting or vacuum casting. Pressure casting is used to get bubble-free clear resin castings whereas vacuum casting is used to make molds.

Do you happen to know what psi they set it up at? I combine epoxy and scrap wood pieces together and put in a cylindrical container that I put on the wood lathe after it has fully cured. My problem is I end up with air bubbles in the middle center of the project that I have to fill in to avoid a void in the project. So I’m curious as to weither or not this process will resolve or at least help.
