My project is setting sea glass in sterling silver cups using clear resin. I use the resin as a base and up the sides of the glass but not on top. My resin has dried sticky. Adding another coat is not an option. How do I melt or dissolve the resin and remove it completely so I can start the project over? I am trying acetone but right now it’s a stick mess!

      Hi Lori,

You can use methylene chloride to dissolve resin. It works like an ice cube where it starts dissolving around the edges and will loosen up so that you can peel it out. I have not tried this with glass, but have done it with metal bezels.

IF YOU ARE GOING TO DO THIS, TAKE ALL PROPER SAFETY PRECAUTIONS. METHYLENE CHLORIDE IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS!
