Hi all, I have been asked to embed some insects in resin, this I have done before with polyester resin which works well. But I need to use a large round mold about 6in / 150mm diameter, 1.25in / 30mm deep. I can’t find anything this big off the shelf, so may have to make a mold. I was wondering what plastic sheet materials would work: I expect nylon, polythene and silicone sheet would work but be hard to stick together. I think acrylic sheet would craze make damage surface of resin? What about PVC or polyester acetate sheet, has anyone used these to make a mold? Thanks!

Try polypropylene. The resin shouldn’t stick to that.
