      Hi All,
      I’m a total resin newbie.

My project: custom made fibre glass dog car seat. I want to make a fibreglass inlay that fits perfectly on my seat, and put a custom seat and seat belt system on top of it

I would use some fibre glass matts and polyester resin to make the inlay.

My concern is that the curing temperature of the resin would damage my leather seat. If I apply a few layers of fibre glass matt and resin (assuming correct hardening agent mixing) is there any meaningful exogenous heat given the thin layer and big surface area?

What sort of temperatures should I expect? Am I unnecessarily worried?

Which type of resin should I use? Standard polyester resin with some fibre glass matts?

      Many thanks!
