I used the mat to place my small piece on and was doing just a small layer of resin on top to make from a dull finish to a shiny finish. However, some did run over and down the side and it still went to the bottom leaving a blob on the bottom. I thought with the resin mats it wasn’t supposed to do that, it was supposed to drip to the mat from the side of the item no going on to the bottom? Was I just misunderstanding or did I do something wrong? TIA

Hi Beth, the resin wants to ‘stick’ to something. Due to the surface tension, it’s not unusual for resin to run underneath the piece instead of going onto the mat. The good news is that if your resin is still in the soft cure stage, you can likely break off the excess. You can see what I’m talking about in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTAYTBEQrkk&t=2s
