      Thank you.

I have another question, hope it’s ok to ask here instead of creating a new thread. Besides my walking stick project, I’m really interested in creating a wood & resin light like I see in a lot of YouTube videos. However, it seems that many resins cannot be poured more than 1/8 – 1/4 of an inch because of the exothermic reaction. But in many of those videos (especially the ones with no talking, just music) they are most certainly pouring more than 1/8 or 1/4 of an inch. In some cases, the pours seem to be many inches across, as well as high and deep.

So is this a special resin one would use for those lights? Since I’m new, I’m starting small but am anxious to rev up and start doing some bigger things, but am not sure now if I should. I have limited time due to real life, so layered pours aren’t always realistic. What is a good expoxy for deep (DEEEEP) pours, but still usable with the small stuff as well?

I know different resins are suitable for different things, but if I didn’t have to have and keep so many different resins, it’d be beneficial to my limited storage and work space, as well as my limited time.

      Hi Joe,

For what you want to do, you should use a casting resin. These are meant for deeper and larger pours like what you need to do here. This article explains more: https://www.resinobsession.com/resin-frequently-asked-questions/doming-resin-casting-resin/

For pours of 3 ounces or less, the Resin Obsession super clear resin is what you want:

For pours of 3 ounces or more, the Resin obsession deep pour casting resin works great:
