Hi, I am playing with the idea of making resin beads encased with dried flowers for customers. I have a few silicone molds that I have been experimenting with. First, I was wondering the best way to fill the sphere mold? Would you use a squeeze bottle or the toothpick method? Also, once the bead has cured, I’m assuming you can drill a hole on the bead to string it? Is this correct? Are there any tricks to keeping the bead in place while drilling? And tips and tricks you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

      Hi Tara,

I like to use a toothpick to guide the resin. You can see what I’m talking about in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNSvffZ-il4 You can drill the resin bead once it is cast. I think the best way to drill a straight, even hole is with a drill press.
