Dear Resin Obesssion, I had a question regarding pouring multiple layers of epoxy. I am making deep-ish pours three to four inches deep with clear resin. I do this so the resin won’t overheat as it cures, and also as I place objects at various depths in the resin so they “float” at different levels. I’ll let the resin cure, add some objects, pour another layer and repeat until I have a deep, large block of resin. Seen from directly above, the effect is nice. However when looked at the side the different layers are obvious with these faint lines appearing where each pouring of resin was done. Is there any technique when pouring multiple layers to eliminate these lines?

      Hi Danny,

Pour the next layer while the previous layer is in the gel phase. That will minimize the lines.
