Paper acidity affected by resin/sealing?

As a coloured pencil artist, I’m already familiar with paper acidity and its effects on longevity of artwork. Does the sealing medium or resin affect paper acidity? Does the UV protectant in your resins also protect the artwork beneath?

I’m interested in finding out if resin might be a good protectant for some of my art – possibly even turn it into something wearable or useful.

      Thanks!

      Hi Stephanie,

Whenever I’ve used ‘acidic’ papers with resin, they bubbled horribly.

If you were to try again, I’d laminate them before applying resin.

Unfortunately, resin itself won’t protect your artwork from UV light forever.
