This question comes through email by Walter:

I have purchased a vacuum pump and a vacuum chamber to end my bubble problems. However, that has not been the case. After I turn my pump on, the resin bubbles up to a frothy beer like state, and never transforms into bubble-free resin.  In fact there are more bubbles than when I start. I left my pump on for over 10 minutes. I have experienced these results consistently after several trials. Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated.

      Hi Walter,

More than likely, your bubbles are very small.  The vacuum that the pump creates is enough to make them rise to the top, but unfortunately, not enough to make them pop.

I would suggest going to the other extreme and pressure cast the resin.  You add pressure to your pot to compress the bubbles.  The pressure will compress them so small that you wont be able to see them with the naked eye.  Keep this pressure on while the resin cures and the bubbles wont be visible.

      Good luck!
