Hi – brand new to resin crafting and have a quick (and hopefully easy) question.

I have the idea of using a wine glass to create a fish diorama – I plan on using a single fish sculpture, and plan on adding sand, rocks, shells, etc. My biggest concern is this: Am I able to put resin into the wine glass without fear of it expanding to break the glass itself? If so, what resin should I use and are there any techniques I should be aware of to make it work?

I like the idea of a wine glass, but if it’s too fragile to work… I can do other things (like a mason jar), but I think a wine glass would look the best when put out on display…

      Thanks ahead of time…

      Hi Richard,

Since this is a small casting of resin, your project should not crack the glass, especially if you keep it out of direct sunlight.

The Resin Obsession super clear resin will work great for a project like this. You can find it in several sizes here: https://shop.resinobsession.com/collections/resin/resin-obsession-super-clear-resin

This article should help you get started: https://www.resinobsession.com/resin-tutorials/diorama-ornaments-diy/
