I’ve never worked with resin before, but I had this idea for making sun catchers that I want to try out: The idea would be to start with a shallow mold and put a little clear resin in it. Then I would cut out designs from colored stage lighting filters like these…

…and place them on top, making stained glass-like effects. These would then be sealed in place with more resin. Does this sound like it would work? What type of resin would be good to use? I’m also imagining there could be problems with air being trapped between overlapping sheets and the resin…any ideas how to deal with this? Maybe coat the pieces with epoxy glue before laying them down?
