      This question comes from Tricia:

Hi I have been trying to seal my rice paper sumie paintings so I can embed them in resin. They have been disintegrating when I use modge podge- it worked a little better with the modge podge for paper- any advice for rice paper it is more delicate then other fibers. Maybe a spray acrylic sealer?

      Hi Tricia,

I don’t have any experience with these kinds of papers. One of our resinistas has used them in her projects. I’m going to ask her to comment.

      Hi Tricia,

I have not had any problem using modge podge on rice paper, for sure it is delicate so you have to be very liberal with it, if your brush or from brush is dry I could see it potential he ripping. A spray acrylic would also work, but be sure you cut it how you want it. First, so that you are not cutting it after, I think that could lead to some breakage.

Happy to provide more info if there’s more details I am missing here. I have use rice paper quite a lot in resident. Let me know!
