      This question comes from Kenya:

I currently dabble in resin jewelry. My question is, do you have any tips for using resin in hot/humid climates? I may be traveling to Jamaica soon and would most likely be making and selling some things down there. Is there a resin that works better in hot climates?

      Hi Kenya,

Unfortunately, there isn’t a ‘hot climate’ resin. Resins do best when they are worked in an environment of low 70’s F. You will either need to find a climate controlled area to work with it in, or plan on your pot time being reduced because of the extra heat.

The extra humidity shouldn’t be an issue unless you are working with polyurethane resins. They can be moisture sensitive.

      Happy travels!

live in Costa Rica – using polyester resin – no worries they dry within 2 hours but you would have to use a little more hardener than usual

        Hi Axel,

Do you mean adding more hardener than usual helps with moisture issues?
Any body every tried defoamers and have any experience with it?
