My mom gifted me a medallion necklace with a tumbled azurite half sphere in the center. Azurite is super delicate and sensitive to heat and water damage. I want to wear it daily without worrying about damage from showers or when working out in the garden.
Is resin a good choice to seal and protect it from oxidizing and getting ruined by water and heat, and protection from scratches? If not resin, any other suggestions?
Could resin damage the azurite since it is so sensitive?
      Thank you for your advice!

      Hi Jessica,

Since you mention the azurite is heat-sensitive, I’m not sure it’s a good choice in this case. The resin has to heat up to cure and I can’t say for sure it wouldn’t damage your stone.

Unfortunately, I don’t have a suggestion for another product.

Alrighty. Thank you for the information! Glad I asked before I would have ruined my jewelry!
