Want to create 'ice' in a model

Hi there, I’m working on a project with many different textiles, and I’m trying to find a substanse that I could use to look like ice. I was thinking of using clouded resin, but never no experience of using it. The project is a 3D landscape, boardered with wood. I would be pouring the resin onto a wooden base (to give the appearance of a frozen lake), with wooden sides, with one side built up of plaster of Paris. I am wondering if resin would be okay for this, which resin to buy if so, and if it would have any effects on the plaster of Paris? Any help/advice would be appreciated!

HI Theia, yes, resin would work very well for this purpose. I would be sure to seal the areas that the resin will come in contact with first, otherwise, those areas will take up water stain. As for which resin, most any epoxy resin would most likely do for this case. I don’t know how much you are pouring, but I imagine it isn’t a large area or thickness.
