Why is this happening with silicone molds?

      Hello all!

I have been using resin for a little while and tried different types. I seem to get the same issue when casting using silicone molds. It has a raised effect on the piece that looks like it was still uncured when it receded in the mold (leaving a texture that looks like it was wet).

I hope that makes sense. Can I upload a photo?

      Any help really appreciated.

      Paul

        Hi Paul,

        I’m afraid I don’t see a message from you.

Can you try sending it again without an attachment?

      Hi Paul,

Thanks for sending over the picture. It’s a big help.

Your resin is shrinking as it cures. It’s not unusual this time of year if you’re room temperature is cool. You’ll need to add extra warmth to your mold.

Thanks very much for a swift response – I will work out how to warm up my room and the pour!

        Thanks again

        Paul
