By living in Florida, I’m constantly inspired by my surroundings. I decided to let the beach part of the state inspire me to make an ocean waves resin painting.
I mixed six ounces of clear resin, dividing it into 3 containers of resin with a smidge left over. The three large containers of resin were colored with Resin Obsession opaque white, transparent teal and transparent blue. The little bit of leftover resin got Krylon silver metallic spray paint.
The base for this painting is a 12 inch square ceramic white tile. I covered it with alternating ribbons of teal and blue resin. Next, I poured on white resin and used a heat gun to push the resin around. I finished with the silver resin.
You can see how I painted here:
I think this ocean waves resin painting perfectly captures heavy ocean waves.
I love how the white cells are floating above the colored resin. It looks like I painted in two layers when it was only one.
The cells in the silver painting developed after I left the painting to cure. This was a nice little surprise.
Have you ever let the weather inspire your resin paintings?
