Yes, I am still coloring epoxy resin experimental style in the studio.  This week finishes up my projects using the Resin Obsession color pigments in the Alumilite Amazing Clear Cast resin.  I mixed 1 1/2 ounces total resin in reusable plastic mixing cups. After dividing the resin, I mixed in 1 drop of each of the Resin Obsession opaque color pigments.

You know how much I love teardrop mold 404, but this week, I got a little crazy.  I used assorted shapes mold 405.  And as always, I sprayed the mold with a light mist of Castin’ Craft mold release and conditioner 30 minutes before casting the resin.

The results after they were demolded: SUCCESS

The colors were opaque and the resin fully cured.

The colors were even throughout.  Overall, I was very pleased.

Is it safe to mix one company’s resin with another company’s resin dyes? Could there be any bad chemical reactions or odors unsafe to breathe in? Is it safe to assume they are interchangeable?
