Opaque resin colors

Opaque resin colors

mixed resin

The resin experiments continue!  This week, I mixed some of the Alumilite Amazing Clear Cast resin and colored it with the Castin’ Craft opaque resin pigments to see what kind of opaque resin colors would result.

I mixed a drop of each color into approximately 4 cc of mixed resin. (You will need to shake these colors well as sometimes the pigment may settle to the bottom of the bottle.)

I used assorted shapes mold 405.  Before pouring, I misted it with Castin’ Craft mold release and conditioner.  (Let it dry for 30 minutes before casting the resin.)

The results after they were demolded: SUCCESS

The colors were opaque and the resin cured as expected.

I was just wondering if you could tell me what I can put on my resin items that I have put photos in as a protectant so resin doesn’t scratch because some of the projects Im making are key chains that will be getting put down on a lot of things and I just want to make sure the photo dome doesn’t get all scratched.

I would suggest using a resin that cures very hard instead. Did you have an idea what resin you wanted to use?
