Moving along with the resin experiments….

This week, I colored Alumilite Amazing Clear cast resin with Castin’ Craft transparent dyes.  It has been awhile since I had worked with these colors.  I had forgotten how thin the consistency of the colors were (much like using alcohol ink).  Note:  Like when casting the other colors, I placed a drop of the color into 3 to 4 milliliters of mixed resin.  You will see how much lighter the finished castings are.

After prepping teardrop mold 404. with a mist of Castin’ Craft mold release and conditioner, I poured the resin.

The results after they were demolded:  SUCCESS

The colors were transparent and the resin cured as expected.  I think I could have added a smidge more color to make them darker and they still would have cured.
