DIY bottle cap resin ring
I love these bottle cap ring findings. They’re dainty and cute, but the bezels are deep enough that you can add enough colored resin to make them really pop.
To make this ring, I used mixed, leftover Castin’ Craft Easy Cast epoxy resin from a different project. Note: Any clear resin will work. I wanted the resin base to have some color, so I mixed in Reflex Violet pearl ex powder. A little goes a long way.
Carefully pour the resin into the bottle cap bezel. You’re not going to need much.
Note: Since I needed the cap to sit level, I cut a slit from an old food container to set the ring into.
To give some visual interest to the top, I used crystals from the craft section of the dollar store. They were flat backed and had an adhesive side.
Very carefully place the crystal stickers onto the semi cured resin. (For this resin, it was about 2 hours after it was mixed. You will need to wait until the resin is like taffy, otherwise, your crystals will sink.) You can use a toothpick to adjust the placement a tiny bit if necessary. You will need to make sure you get it right the first time, because at this stage, you are likely to introduce bubbles you won’t get out if you do a lot of pushing and moving of the crystals. Allow to fully cure.
As you can see, I ended up with a dainty little ring that will add sparkle to my day!
