If you’re looking for Halloween jewelry ideas, you will love this simple project.
Resin supplies list:
Resin Obsession Super Clear Resin
Glitter
Jewelry cabochon mold
Sanding file
Toothpicks
Stirring sticks
E-6000 adhesive
“B” and “O” letter beads
earring and ring findings with glue pads
candy sprinkles
black resin colorant
wax paper, freezer paper, or plastic bag to cover work surface
Step 1: First resin layer
Mix the super clear resin as two parts A to one part B. Then, fill the cavities about one-third full. Place the letter beads into the resin, positioning them with a toothpick. Be sure that the “B” is placed correctly so that it will not be backward when viewed from the front. You can lift up the mold (keeping it level) and peek underneath to be sure the letters are correctly placed.
You want to use the super clear resin for this project because it’s a jewelry resin specifically designed for molds. You’ll love how hard it cures.
Once the letters are positioned, place varying pieces of candy sprinkles into the resin using a toothpick. I used orange and white sprinkles. After placing the sprinkles, add a bit more resin, leaving about 1/8” at the top. Let cure.
Step 2: Second resin layer
This is where the Halloween jewelry ideas come to life.
Mix the two-part epoxy resin adhesive, adding a small amount of black colorant. It doesn’t take much. I also added a bit of holographic glitter to give the piece a touch of sparkle.
Fill the cavities the resin of the way with the black resin.
Step 3: Demold and finish
Once cured, demold the resin charms. Sand down any sharp edges with a sanding file.
Glue the charms onto the ring and earring blanks. I used E-6000 adhesive, although you can also use a little mixed resin from another project. Let cure for 24 hours.
These finished pieces are really fun Halloween jewelry ideas for anyone who enjoys the holiday.
