If you’re interested in making crafts with resin, then you will be excited to know that you can make all kinds of amazing things with silicone molds for resin. Yeah! Don’t tell the other Resin Obsession molds, but we do have a few favorites that you will want to add to your collection!
Before we get into that, you should know a few things about using silicone molds for resin.
1. Whatever the surface of the silicone is, that same surface will transfer to your resin. So I mean that if you want to make shiny resin castings with molds, you need to make sure the mold has that same shiny surface.
2. To keep your silicone molds in top shape, you should apply a resin mold release before filling them with resin. This helps to make sure your resin castings demold easily, plus it protects your mold against microtears which can shorten the life of your mold.
3. If you have a hard time demolding resin charms from your silicone molds, add a bit of soapy water between the cured resin and the silicone. It helps your resin to slip out like butter!
