Resin diamonds bracelet
How to make your own resin diamonds bracelet.
For this project you will need:
Resin Obsession Super Clear Resin
Resin Obsession Transparent Pigment: Blue
Resin Obsession Opaque Pigment: Teal
Silicone Blossom Mini trivet
Wooden stir sticks
Additional supplies and tools needed:
6 x 3.9mm Volcano Swarovski flat back crystals
6 x 10x10mm silver 2-hole flower sliders
1.0mm Stretch Magic
Her Embosser Tool with 1mm drill bit
Crystal placement tool
Sandpaper: 240 grit
Ruler and permanent marker
Not shown: Before preparing the resin, place a strip of packing tape across every second petal of the trivet. The adhesive will not stick to the silicone very easily so burnish it well.
Measure out 1/2 oz (15mls) of resin and 1/4 oz (7.5mls) hardener. Add one drop of opaque teal pigment to the resin and mix well. Add a second drop if you would like the color more intense. Pour both parts into a larger cup and mix completely. Leave on your bench for 5 minutes for the bubbles to dissipate.
Place the slider on top of the petal at the widest point and mark the position of the two holes. Repeat on the other side of the petal. Use a ruler and marker to draw guide lines on the back of the petal for drilling. Place the petal on its side and drill the holes, first from one side, then the other, until you meet in the middle. Take your time as you drill and check often that you are drilling straight. Wipe away the guide lines with rubbing alcohol.
Cut two 12” lengths of Stretch Magic and prestretch them. This helps reduce overstretching through wear. String the sliders and petals, alternating the colours. Tie a surgeon’s knot on each length of elastic. Dab GS-Hypo Cement on the knots for added security. Trim the knots to ¼” (6mm) and slide the knot inside the slider component if you are able to.
