what is the ideal resin to use for an alginate or instamold mold. I tried polyester resin the other day and it smelled absolutely awful, I need something that could be used in my studio.

Hi Juliana,

The smell is likely due from the polyester resin. That stuff smells awful. I would suggest switching to an epoxy.

On a side note, I haven’t used instamold but have used alginate. Those molds tend to attract moisture. I *think* an epoxy will cast okay, but I definitely would not use a polyurethane. They hate moisture!
