Okay so I will admit that I am a complete noob when it comes to using resin. I am using a clear polyester casting resin inside small rectangular silicone molds. Everytime I try to use my butane torch to release and pop any potential bubbles, my resin keeps catching on fire. Is this because of the type of resin I’m using? Or am I just doing something wrong? I am keeping the flame the good inch or two away and I keep it moving at a pretty decent pace. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated and I apologize if this seems like a stupid question.

      Hi Trevor,

I don’t like using a torch for this reason. Have you considered using a heat gun? This is the one I use: https://shop.resinobsession.com/collections/tools/products/wow-embossing-multipurpose-heat-tool-heat-gun

Hi Carol, I’m not clear on your question. Do you want to make permanent bubbles in the resin?
