I have a Seahorse mold, makes an item 3 in L x 1.375 in W. I want to make a mirror image mold. I know there must be a way, but I haven’t been able to figure it out.

The best suggestion I can give you is to make a casting from the mold you want a mirror image from. You can then have someone who specializes in CAD/CAM design scan the casting. S/he can then make a mirror image of the scan which can be 3D printed in wax. From that wax model, you can then make a mold.

Thanks Katherine! I haven’t tried this since I was about 8 years old, on a kids summer arts program. We did all kinds of things with plaster of Paris and clay, and this was one of the things we were supposed to learn.
I’ve used everything else I learned there, but not this.

Thanks for the suggestion (why didn’t I think of it?), I can have this done locally. They don’t do printing in wax, but the examples I was shown were slick and shiny, and should work.
