Hello, I did some searching here first and found a few similar questions asked but they didn’t appear to get answered. I plan to do several embedded object (cast iron) pieces. One type will be a resin block 12″x12″x 3″ thick. And another will be a 6″ resin cube. In both cases, the finished castings will be demolded and displayed as transparent sculpture with the embedded objects visible. I like many of the features of polyester resin on your selecting a resin page including that it is friendly for deeper pours. Given that i will be tinting it, I’m concerned that i will not be able to precisely match tint from one layer to the next. Can polyester be poured this deeply in one pour? If not, how deep can it be poured and how can i match tinting from one layer to the next?

Thanks for any advice you can offer!

      HI Ninev,

Yes, you can pour polyester resin in this deep a layer, but as you have already suspected, it will be difficult to get the exact same tint of color from one layer to the next.
