I would like advice on whether one should place items in the mold prior to pouring in the resin. Items I am referring to could be crystals, metals, findings, etc. Thanks.

Hi Judy, it depends. If possible, I like to pour in a layer of resin first, then put in the item so that I don’t trap any bubbles underneath.
