This is probably a really random question, but I am getting some square sod chunks from my favorite sports team’s stadium tomorrow and want to preserve it. Since it’s painted the team’s colors, I don’t want to plant it because eventually I’ll have to trim the painted grass blades off. Is it possible to preserve it in resin, sod/dirt and all? I keep reading that one has to dry the item before preserving but i don’t know how it will be possible to dry it without the moist dirt falling apart when it dries. Does anyone have any suggestions?

      Hi Savannah,

I appreciate that you want to preserve a piece of nature, but unfortunately, doing this project in resin is not a good idea. This article explains more:

I don’t see sod on that list. Would it be possible to dry it with silica and it not fall apart and not lose the painted on color?
