Hi there, I’m very new to casting and I have a few questions! I’m very interested in creating jewelry with plants and this peaked my interest. I have a few ideas and would like to do something similar to this: https://www.etsy.com/listing/609914422/real-fern-earrings-fern-resin-jewelry

Would I use a silicone mat and paint the resin over the fern/leaf or would I use some type of mold? How would I shape it to be curved and flat like this? Any help is appreciated!
I’d also like to do leaves and not actually “embed” the leaf inside but rather have it coated in resin with smooth edges.

You can paint resin on the leaf while it is on a silicone mat. Peel it up when it is soft-cured, then shape it as you like. Let it fully cure and it should retain its shape.
