I am new to resin making and have recently bought some cameo necklaces from people on ebay. I love the cameos, but I am not too crazy about the frames/settings they are glued into. Is there a way to remove the cameo from the frame without damaging the resin cameo? I do not know what kind of glue was used and I have found some of the ebay sellers are reluctant to give away any secrets to what they use to make their products for fear of giving a competitor advice (which I am not a competitor).  Any help/advice anyone might be able to give would be greatly appreciated!

      Hi Alyssa,

Heres a couple of ideas (try with the resin cameo you like the least):

      1.  Soak in water
      2.  Soak in acetone

If either of these steps works, it should only take a couple of minutes for the cameo to loosen from the frame.

      3.  Apply gentle heat.

If you have a toaster oven, you could try warming the piece up so that it might soften the adhesive.  Be careful of fumes and I would suggest not using that toaster oven for food anymore.

      Good luck!
