This question comes through email by Drew:

I am looking to make knife handles, with crazy multiple colors and wood mixed with epoxy or shredded metal mixed in.

      What’s most scratch resistant?
      What’s most shatter resident?

Finally and also what’s the best of these 2 if they are on different spectrums or the same spectrum ? Thanks

      Hi Drew,

You’ve got a bit of a conundrum here! The more scratch-resistant a resin is, the more likely it is to shatter. However, resins that aren’t likely to shatter when dropped are likely to scratch.

For what you want to do, it sounds like one of the Resin Obsession resins will work. If you are working in a mold, you need to use a casting resin.

For pours of 3 ounces or less, the Resin Obsession super clear resin is what you want to use: https://shop.resinobsession.com/collections/resin/resin-obsession-super-clear-resin

For pours of 3 ounces or more, the Resin obsession deep pour casting resin will work: https://shop.resinobsession.com/collections/resin/resin-obsession-deep-pour-resin

      Does this help?
