I am having a terrible time trying to cast a green colored boat light lens. Too little dye, the lens casts almost clear when it clears. Too much dye and it comes out BLUE, not green. I used Alumilite Platt 55 for the mold. Resin Obsession Super Clear (epoxy) Resin. The information on their website indicates it is a crystal clear resin with UV protectors (which I need for the outdoor application) and does not yellow. The dye is the Alumilite translucent green.

When I mixed it the first time, I mixed in the green in the A part before adding the B part. The cured product was dark blue…….. any suggestions please???

      Hi Jerry,

I would suggest using the Resin Obsession pigments for your project. (either the transparent or bright neon green). Sometimes a color from one manufacturer does not do well in another brand’s resin.

You can find the pigments in this category: https://shop.resinobsession.com/collections/colorants/Liquid
