I make polyresin drawer pulls and can’t find a paint that will bond to the resin good enough so it won’t chip off. I was using regular rattle can spray paint and it forms a shell on the object buy the paint does not seem to want to grip onto the part..
So I guess the question is what type paint do I use for a good bond ?? -

Not painted resin yet but i have painted plastics PLA and PETG which are both polys so in theory similar to resin, i 3D print some items which i then paint in standard acrylic paint then clear coat with spray afterwards, not had any chipping yet but then again the items are more decorative than utility ,have you tried adding a clear coat to see if it helps any?
Also maybe try soft sanding the drawer pulls it may help the paint to grip[ more
