      Hi Katherine!

Im wanting to create some bangle moulds using silicone rubber – but Im wanting to create my own bangles (so they have a more organic/fluid feel to them), rather than the plastic bangles that are so readily available.
As Im new to the biz, would creating the bangles in polymer clay be suitable? Then create my mould using silicone rubber using the polymer clay bangle?
      Thanks for you help,
      Kirby

      Kirby,

I dont have any experience with polymer clay, but if it is like modeling clay at all, you will be fine.  Whenever I have done modeling clay, I follow instructions (like do you need to bake polymer clay??) and make sure I use a mold release before pouring the silicone.  (We have several mold releases:  https://www.resinobsession.com/Mold-Release.html

I work with polymer clay.  My favorite brand is Premo! Sculpey.  Its very easy to condition and just the right balance between too hard and too soft.  Other great brands are Fimo and Kato.  Good luck!
