      Hello,

I am very new to resin casting and any help would be appreciated greatly!

I recently cast a dandelion and another unknown flower. I did them both from fresh as I’d seen tutorials where dandelions were dipped immediately after being cut. Once my cast cured and was removed from the mold there is a white smoky cloud coming from the centre of the flower. Is this because it wasnt dried and the moisture or something in the flower reacted? Or could it be something else? A dried buttercup and rose didn’t produce this clouding but I did get lots of bubbles! I will read the forum posts for those but any help on this issue would be great!

      Thanks
      Suzanne

      Hi Suzanne,

It sounds like your flower released moisture into the resin which caused the cloud. All flowers should be dried first before including them in resin. We have some articles on that here:
