This question comes through email by Kathie:

I have a project in mind, and was wondering which would be best to use, Polyester Casting Resin, Acrylic, or Epoxy Resin.

I have a Coffee Table that I am going to refinish. It has raised edges and I want to pour layers alternately with stone chips in them, to give it a 3D affect, like they are suspected in clear layers.

Thank you for your help. I worked with Acrylic many years ago, But it’s been a long time.

      Hi Kathie,

For this project, I would not use a polyester resin. The surface exposed to air during curing will remain tacky, so it’s one more step to have to deal with. I also not aware of a ‘small scale crafting’ acrylic resin for your project. That leaves an epoxy for your table. I would use the Resin Obsession artwork resin. You can buy it in our store here: https://shop.resinobsession.com/collections/resin/resin-obsession-artwork-resin
