Crafts for ladies groups – group art projects for adults

crafts for ladies groupsWho doesn’t need an excuse for a girls’ night out? If you think you want to host a girl’s night party, why not invite resin along? Here are some crafts for ladies’ groups that will have everyone asking when you will be hosting the next one!

I know you are anxious to start planning, but I want to make sure you have a few things covered before you start your group crafts for adults (sorry – these aren’t small child appropriate):

1. Make sure you’ve got space. A large banquet table or even plywood on a couple of sawhorses will work in a situation like this.
2. Cover your table with a disposable tarp. A thin plastic painter’s tarp from the hardware store works great.  If you don’t want to buy one of those, here are some other surfaces resin won’t stick to.
3. Have the right safety equipment, including protective gloves. Let your guests know ahead of time that you’ve planned a resin project and that they will need to understand resin safety precautions before you get started. Your guests will appreciate your concern for their well-being!

So now that you’ve got your space and guest list, what are some group crafts for adults you can make:

Resin painting ornaments

This works great for any occasion, but Christmastime is especially fun.  All you need is a hard shape to serve as your resin base. Clay ornaments work great, but so will wood shapes. Have each guest mix a color of resin, then everyone shares their colors to decorate ornaments. Glitter and metal leaf are also great to have on hand in case your ladies want to give their decorations an extra sparkle. You can see how to do it with these resin Christmas ornaments.

Ask your ladies to bring a juice can lid and other trinkets for this project. The resin works as a glue to hold this three-dimensional, mixed-media project together. It’s literally the ‘everything and the kitchen sink’ of resin projects.  Here’s a DIY magnet idea to get you started.
