place packing tape on trivet holds

Place a strip of packing tape across each of the slots and burnish the edges really well .

adding transparent yellow color to resin

Measure out 1oz (30mls) resin and 1/2oz (15mls) hardener. Add one drop of transparent yellow pigment to the resin and mix well. If the colour is lighter than you’d like, add a second drop. Pour both parts into a larger cup and mix completely. Leave on your bench for the bubbles to dissipate for 5 minutes.

fill pipette with resin

Draw the resin up into the pipette without creating any bubbles.

drip resin into trivet holes

fill with resin

Drip the resin into the horizontal cavities of the trivet, directly onto the packing tape. Pick up the trivet from time to time and look underneath to check that the resin is filling all the cavities under the cross bars.

adding red resin to trivet

Measure 1 1/2oz (45mls) resin and 3/4oz (22.5mls) hardener and colour the resin with transparent red pigment , adding one drop at a time until you are happy with the depth of the color. Mix the two parts together and set aside for five minutes to allow the bubbles to rise. Draw the resin into the pipette and drip it into the vertical slots until they are level with the top of the trivet. Set aside to cure.
